Challenge
Enron enlisted Luminant to define and build an Intranet
portal that would improve the efficiency of and communication between
their remote sales force. This
portal would enable sales personnel to quickly access communication tools
and marketing information from remote locations over a Virtual Private
Network. Additionally, users
would be able to configure notifications that would instantly alert them
to changing marketing conditions.

Solution
The first objective was to listen to the sales force
and let them identify what they required to be more efficient and
productive employees. Using
this information, along with a full accounting of the applications and
information available to the remote sales force, Luminant developed an
intuitive and flexible structure to organize this information.
New or expanded functionality, such as the dynamic alerting
mechanism, was thoroughly explored and integrated into the structure of
the portal.
